GOOGLE GOGGLES

Many a time we would come across a monument or a landmark or a painting or any interesting item on which we would want to know more, instantly.. Till now, we can at best use our mobile phones and type in the monument or landmark name and give a search in Google.
But, what if we didn't know the monument name?
And in case of paintings, how do we give the painting's identity to Google?

Well Google has come up with an answer to these challenges !
It is said " A picture is better than a thousand words ".  True to this phrase, Google has bettered itself with picture based search capabilities !

Yes, now we can seek information about many things by simply capturing the picture and inputing it to Google's visual search engine !

This application can only be used on mobile phones having Google's Android Operating System.

The Google Goggles application has a database of more than one billion images and can recognise landmarks, CD covers, logos, barcodes, books, shopfronts and business cards. But it cannot identify certain types of objects like cars, food, animals..

It has a few limitations in its current avatar but I think this is a big step forward.
